Thursday night KISSEY DJed the NYCB Fashion and Movement Fall Gala, which celebrated the premiere of the company's collaboration with Zac Posen and Anna Sui. KISSEY had also music curated the different playlists that could be heard throughout different segments of the night. For images from the night see this post on instagram.
This Friday (9.27) you can experience a DJ performance by KISSEY at Eurobeats Festival going down @ Union Stage (Washington D.C). The Festival stretches over 2 days and presents 10 different electronic music artists from 10 different European countries.
A new Generation Watts Radio Show with KISSEY will be released every couple of weeks throughout 2019. The show is a DJ-mix show and conversation that focuses on subjects related to Music, Energy, Vibrations, Frequency & Thought. The title for May's episode is 'The Energy of Spring' (#R006). Sunday night in Soho KISSEY and LiKWUiD DJ:ed + live improvised an ambient sound experience for Sidereal. The monthly event is hosted by Matt & Torin at One Thousand Birds. Listen/Stream the 3 hour performance here. 1st hour is KISSEY, 2nd hour is LiKWUiD and the 3rd hour is both of them spinning alongside each other improvising and building beats live.
Last week KISSEY DJ:ed at the Women Of World Festival's New York edition that is hosted and curated by the Apollo Theater. The day was filled with interviews, panels, and talks with people including headliner Angela Davis.
KISSEY joins a line up of cool artists and creatives (Madame Ghandi, Kaki King, Kalbells and more) for the first The Hum t-shirt! The Hum is an all female performance series based in New York. The t-shirt is beautifully Illustrated by Lindsay Mound and can be purchased online.
This Saturday (8.11) is the first out of three consecutive Saturday nights that KISSEY will be spinning music for her August DJ residency at the Ace Hotel in New York City. Sound Thinking NYC's panel "Career Goals: Whose Voices Matter? Connections, Community and Diversifying the Music Industry" happened Friday and KISSEY was one of the panelist who participated. Sound Thinking is a free program offered by The CUNY's CAT team, The NYC Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment in partnership with NY Is Music. ST are currently doing a 3 week summer music intensive program with 50 select students. In this first panel, which was lead by Shira Gans, other panelist who participated were - Carletta Higgenson, Rachel Hislop, Molly Neuman, Judy Tint, Erica Glyn, Alicia Barret & Rebecca Huston. After the panel the students and the panelist did a "speed mentoring" session, this allowed the students to get to know and ask the participants their own questions.
KISSEY joined beautiful women Biet Simkin, Joy Sela and Chenoa Maxwell on The Assemblage NoMad rooftop for Joy's We Mirror - an interactive art and guided meditation event. The event took place during the evening of summer solstices. KISSEY spoke to the audience about her new project and manifestation experiment Generation Watts. During the event the crowd got to experince a live sound experience as well as a Generation Watts styled DJ set by KISSEY. At this years NYC Pride March KISSEY particpated as a Pride Ambassador representing Sweden together with the Swedish Consulate and their Nordic neighbors Consulates. KISSEY has been spending the last couple of months working on some new material with the producer, composer, and drummer Andy Bauer. Last night during her set (at Baby's All Right in Williamsburg) she sneak peaked a song that is currently in the works - "I'm excited that the first round of this project is being so well received! it's really cool when you test drive an idea and people dig it with open arms. I feel super excited" - KISSEY said after the show carrying a big smile.
